Roopa is a public health strategist and storyteller who builds partnerships, programs, and policies that make communities healthier. She currently advises organizations across sectors through her independent consulting practice.

With 20+ years of experience across government, academia, health care, and nonprofits, Roopa brings range, creativity, and agility to tackling complex challenges, a keen ability to build bridges and communicate with clarity, and a record of turning ambitious ideas into high-impact solutions.

Her diverse expertise spans food and nutrition policy, built environments, and strategic communication. She has led work at the nation’s largest public health and health care institutions, including the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, CDC, and NYC Health + Hospitals, as well as at global pharmaceutical companies, nonprofits, and startups.

Her work and commentary have appeared in NBC News, Slate, the American Journal of Public Health, JAMA Internal Medicine, and NYC media outlets.
